Description
The Blushing Bride Endless Summer Hydrangea is just like it cousins, but produces an abundance of beautiful, 8-inch diameter, white flowers blushed with soft pink. The flowers come all summer long and deep into fall. It is equally hardy as it is beautiful. We have yet to find a mophead hydrangea that stands up to the heat as well as the Endless Summer varieties.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to 4 feet tall and wide and producing abundant flowers throughout the season, the Blushing Bride Hydrangea is useful as an accent, in small groupings, as a natural hedge in home foundation [plantings and landscape borders. It is also highly suitable for container culture and is ideal for use in cottage and cut flower gardens as well as blue colored theme gardens.
Spacing: 4′ for solid hedges; 7′ or more for space between plants
Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Planting Zone 4a, where this Hydrangea variety is not winter hardy outdoors, you can enjoy it in containers that can be moved indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Blushing Bride Hydrangea are easy to grow in average, moist, well-drained soil. The plants will tolerate full sun in northern zones however will appreciate some afternoon shade or filtered sun in warmer southern zones. We recommend at least 5 hours of direct sunlight per day or all day lightly filtered sun for best flowering. Unlike other mophead hydrangea, you can prune the Endless Summer hydrangeas at any time of year, though we recommend a late winter pruning and a deadheading (removal of faded flowers) after its first flush of blooms have faded. Note: Blushing Bride is an everblooming Hydrangea macrophylla species that produces its flowers from buds formed on both new and old wood.
